Coconut coir is a natural fiber extracted from coconut husks and is Eco-friendly and low cost alternative to peat moss.  It makes an excellent growing medium due to its spongy structure and has the ability to absorb water and retain 8 times its own dry weight.  It is highly resistant to bacteria or fungal growth and does not get hydrophobic like peat-moss.  Use it in planting mixes, gardens or in area that dry out quickly to retain moisture.  Coconut Coir is compressed and needs to be moistened to expand.   Coconut coir is excellent bedding material for worm bins.  0.3 cu. ft. OMRI Listed & cdfa Registered  coir is excellent for mulching to help keep moisture in.
