Broad Windsor Fava Bean is a cool weather bean that can be planted as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring. Plants are upright and heavy yielders. 7" pods contain 5-7 large, oblong, light green beans that can be eaten fresh or dried. Pick pods at 2-3" to eat like snap beans. Very sweet flavor. Young leaves are edible and are great added to salads as a nutritional spring green. Fava beans are not intended for growing in hot weather.
